The Federal Capital Territory ( FCT ) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has challenged his political opponents to strive to unite their families that are in disarray and leave his Rainbow Coalition for President Bola Tinubu alone.
Wike, who on Monday in Abuja took a swipe at his opponents, was speaking at the stakeholders’ interactive meeting held at the headquarters of Gwagwalada Area Council.
The Minister stated that while he is busy uniting both APC and PDP members in FCT and Rivers State, his opponents are losing focus on what they should do to win their polling units for Tinubu.
He said, “Some greedy and selfish politicians do not understand what we call unity. They have no capacity to hold their space; they have no capacity to even hold their families, and they have no capacity to hold their communities.
“So they can open their mouths and say there is no Rainbow Coalition”, he said.
According to him, the Gwagwalada scenario, the only Council in FCT where PDP is in charge, is a positive departure from the politics of confrontation to that of political alliance necessary for development.
He went further to urge residents not to repeat what he described as the mistake of the 2023 general elections, calling for credible representation at the National Assembly.
He equally added that the FCT needed representatives who understood the problems confronting residents across the six area councils and could effectively communicate their demands to the Federal Government.
