Oyebanji’s re-election will bring better service, Ekiti deputy gov

Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, has said the second-term mandate given to the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration was ordained by God to enable it to deliver more impactful services to the people.

Afuye, who described the governor as a godly man whose devotion to God remained unquantifiable, praised his unwavering faith despite the noise and antics of some mischief-makers, particularly during the last governorship election.

The deputy governor, who had been on a thanksgiving tour of Celestial Church of Christ branches across the state, spoke at the CCC in Ikere Ekiti, her hometown, on Sunday, according to a statement made available on Monday by the Director of Press in the Deputy Governor’s Office, Tope Ariyo.

Afuye, who assured Ekiti residents that the Oyebanji administration would prioritise job creation and industrialisation in its second term, praised the CCC and other faith-based organisations in the state for their unwavering support for the government during its first term, particularly during the governorship election period.

She said, “I would like to thank our leaders across the state for standing by us. The support shown by this church, CCC, was massive. The same thing was true across all Christian denominations and also among Muslims. I thank all our faith-based organisations for the uncommon love.

“Our governor is a man who fears God. Having a man of substance like him at the helm of affairs can only mean that God will be made first in his policies and their execution.

“I am optimistic that the second-term mandate of the administration will usher in better, improved and impactful service delivery across the state. I can affirm that priority attention will be given to job creation and industrialisation,” the deputy governor said.

Earlier, the presiding priest of the church, Ven. Rotimi Ogunbunmi, stressed the importance of prayer and unwavering faith in God, asserting that godliness with contentment was of great reward.

Ogunbunmi praised Oyebanji for exhibiting the moral character and upbringing befitting a godly leader, noting that the peace and orderliness being witnessed in the state pointed to the presence of God in the lives of the governor and deputy governor.
