‘An Important Point’ — Okoye Reacts To Udinese’s Draw With Como

Date:

Maduka Okoye has reflected on Udinese’s 1-1 home draw against Como, Completesports.com reports.

The Zebras were forced to settle for a share of the spoils against Cesc Fabregas’ side at the Bluenergy Stadium on Saturday.

Hassane Kamara gave Udinese the lead in the 29th minute, finishing off a move after being set up by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp.

The hosts went into the break with their slender advantage intact after keeping Como at bay for the remainder of the first half.

Como, however, restored parity nine minutes after the restart through Anastasios Douvikas.

Udinese pushed for a winner afterwards but were unable to find the decisive goal as the visitors held firm to secure a point.

Okoye, who was in goal for Udinese, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the encounter despite his side’s failure to claim maximum points.

“It’s an important point. We played against a strong team and we’re happy. We went out there to win, but in the end, a point is great,” Okoye told the club’s official website.

“I’m happy to help the team with my saves, but the team played a great game today. We’re all happy.

“Starting again at home in front of our fans is wonderful; they’ve helped us so much. They’re very important to us, we’re grateful to have fans like them.”
