2026 World Cup: Iwobi snubs Spain, Brazil, names teams to win trophy

Date:

Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has picked England as his favourites to win the 2026 World Cup.

The Three Lions began their campaign with an impressive 4-2 win over Croatia.

It was their first victory over a side ranked in FIFA’s top 15, since they beat Argentina at the 2002 edition.

France also began strongly with a 3-1 victory over Senegal, while Spain thrashed Saudi Arabia 4-0 after a shock 0-0 draw with Cape Verde.

“I personally believe England have a great, great chance,” Iwobi told SkySports.

“I mean they got so many stars in the team, so much ability. Even the ones that are not starting, anyone that comes off the bench can hurt the opposition team.

“So, I’ll say England, but I also believe in France. Of course the attacking threat that France have is scary but I’d actually hope England win it.”
